Scenario:

Regina, with practiced ease, tries to start the old '82 VW Polo on this damp, cold morning. It hadn't moved for a long time.

Patiently, she tries to start the engine again and again, to no avail.

But then, after several attempts, the first tentative signs of life appear. There's even a hint of it almost starting every now and then.

Very short, gentle revving sounds, but the engine doesn't catch and stalls again and again. Is the engine flooded? During further attempts, there's a hissing sound from the carburetor.

You can not only hear it, but also see it in a camera shot showing an engine view. You can see Regina at the wheel.

But she just can't get the engine to start.

So she drains the battery completely.

Even from the outside, while standing with both feet on the ground and leaning towards the ignition switch, she drains the battery again.
